No shocking result in a game in Puebla where sixth ranked Angeles (23-12) defeated 8th ranked Lechugueros (22-14) 69-64. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 14-12. But Lechugueros won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Curtis Withers (203-84, college: Charlotte) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami (FL)) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American swingman Mike Smith (201-76, college: La-Monroe) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Jamaican guard Ricky Johns (193-85, college: Utah) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lechugueros. Angeles has a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 23-12 record. Lechugueros at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lobos Grises and Huracanes. Angeles will again play against Lechugueros (#7) in Leon in the next round. Lechugueros will have a break next round.
