There was no surprise in Nuevo Laredo where 9th ranked Huracanes (22-14) were defeated by fourth ranked Toros (25-11) 80-74. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Huracanes were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Huracanes were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Quentin Joseph (200-84, college: McNeese St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76, agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes. Four Huracanes players scored in double figures. Toros has a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 25-11 record, which they share with Halc.Rojos. Huracanes at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lechugueros and Lobos Grises. Toros will again play against Huracanes (#8) in Tampico in the next round. Huracanes will have a break next round.
