Regular Season Round 12: KR - Hamar 55-57

Third-ranked KR (7-5) used its home court advantage to challenge top-ranked Hamar (12-0) in Reykjavik on Tuesday. The visitors from Hamar managed to secure only two-point victory 57-55. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KR. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamar forced 19 KR turnovers. Strangely KR outrebounded Hamar 49-32 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Jaleesa Butler (183-87, college: Georgetown) who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. FYR Macedonian guard Slavica Dimovska (177-85) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Margret Sturludottir (178-89) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Hildur Siguraardottir (178-81) added 3 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for KR. Hamar have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Defending champion KR keeps the third place with five games lost. Hamar are looking forward to face Njardvik (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. KR will play against Fjolnir and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
