Regular Season Round 11: Shandong FB - Shanghai S. 106-94

There was a small surprise in Jinan where eleventh ranked Shandong Bulls (4-6) defeated 9th ranked Shanghai Sharks (5-6) 106-94 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Shandong Bulls. Shanghai Sharks managed to win third quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shandong Bulls made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Shanghai Sharks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Rodney White (206-80, college: Charlotte) who scored 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Jie Sun (190-86) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton) added 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shandong Bulls moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Qingdao DS and Zhejiang C. Shanghai Sharks lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. Shandong Bulls will meet Shanxi Zhongyu (#15) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shanghai Sharks will play against Guandong Tigers (#3) in Dongguan and hope to secure a win.
