Regular Season Round 10: Kolossos - Olympiacos 68-71

A1 round 10 most interesting game took place in Rodou (derby !!!) between Olympiakos and VAP Kolossos. Top-ranked Olympiakos (10-0) got a very close victory on the road over 4th ranked VAP Kolossos (6-4). Olympiakos managed to escape with a 3-point win 71-68 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of VAP Kolossos. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-68. International guard Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) scored 30 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Zoran Erceg (210-85) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American swingman Pat Kalathis (208-85, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Angelos Tsamis (192-81) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Olympiakos have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record, which they share with Panathinaikos. VAP Kolossos at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Aris and Kavala. Olympiakos is looking forward to face Kavala (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. VAP Kolossos will play against Panellinios in Athens and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
