Regular Season Round 12: Haukar - Keflavik 62-72

An interesting game for Keflavik (11-1) which played road game in Hafnarfjordur against 4th ranked Haukar (6-6). Second ranked Keflavik managed to get a 10-point victory 72-62. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Haukar managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik forced 19 Haukar turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jacquline Adamshick (183-84, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds and the former international forward Bryndis Guamundsdottir (180-88) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Kathleen Snodgrass (175-82) with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Ragna Brynjarsdottir (188-90) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Haukar's coach Henning Henningsson rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Keflavik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-1 record behind leader Hamar. Haukar at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Keflavik will play against bottom-ranked Grindavik (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Haukar will play against Snaefell (#5) in Stykkisholmur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
