Regular Season Round 11: Beijing Ducks - DongGuan L. 92-98

The game between Top Four teams took place in Beijing. 4th placed host Beijing Ducks (7-4) lost to leader DongGuan Leopards (10-0) 98-92. It looked good early as Beijing Ducks took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then DongGuan Leopards took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 42. It was an exceptional evening for American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. DongGuan Leopards' coach Brian Goorjian allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbaas (203-83) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 23 rebounds and 5 blocks and American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) added 23 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Beijing Ducks in the defeat. Five Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record, which they share with Xinjiang. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Jiangsu and Bayi. DongGuan Leopards will play against league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against Foshan and hope to get back on the winning track.
