The game with biggest result difference took place in Cancun. Local Pioneros (27-9) outscored 14th ranked Abejas (13-23) 107-63 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pioneros outrebounded Abejas 52-33 including a 42-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Pioneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Abejas' players. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Joseph Sanchez (180-83, college: UTPA) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. American guard Jeremiah Dominguez (168-85, college: Portland St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Five Pioneros players scored in double figures. Pioneros' coach Alberto Espasandin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Elijah Flores produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Mario Hernandez (196-75, college: Sul Ross St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Pioneros maintains first position with 27-9 record, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Abejas at the other side keep the fourteenth place with 23 games lost. Pioneros is again looking forward to face Abejas (#14) in Guanajuato in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Abejas will have a break next round.
