Regular Season Round 12: Ura Basket - Nilan Bisons 76-74

Date: January 6, 2011
Important game to mention about took place in Kaarina. Eighth ranked Ura Basket (6-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (6-5) 76-74 on Thursday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 42-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Loimaan Korikonkarit outrebounded Ura Basket 50-35 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American swingman Zach Ramey (191-81, college: Benedictine) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Niilo Lehtila (195-83) supported him with 18 points. Ramey is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds by American power forward J'son Stamper (200-85, college: Minnesota, agency: JEMsports) did not help to save the game for Loimaan Korikonkarit. His fellow American import forward Damion Dantzler (203-76, college: Louisville) added 16 points and 16 rebounds. Ura Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Huima. Loser Loimaan Korikonkarit keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Ura Basket will meet Torpan Pojat (#9) in the next round. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play against the league's leader BC Jyvaskyla where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
