Regular Season Round 12: Snaefell - Fjolnir 97-86

Leader Snaefell delivered the eleventh win on Thursday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Fjolnir (4-8) 97-86 in Stykkisholmur. The game was mostly controlled by Snaefell. Fjolnir managed to win fourth quarter 31-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Snaefell had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (203-85, college: San Diego St.) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Jon Olafur Jonsson (199-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Ingvaldur Hafsteinsson (200-81) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Snaefell and five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Snaefell (11-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Fjolnir lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Njardvik. Snaefell are looking forward to face Keflavik (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fjolnir will play against Stjarnan (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
