Very important is a road loss of second ranked Electra Ramat (10-2) against seventh ranked Elitzur Netanya (5-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Electra Ramat was defeated by seventh ranked Elitzur Netanya (5-7) in a tough game in Netanya 70-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Electra Ramat. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 27-20 last quarter charge of Electra Ramat cut the lead to 78-70 at the end of the game. Elitzur Netanya made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Electra Ramat turnovers. Strangely Electra Ramat outrebounded Elitzur Netanya 38-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Ashley Shields (178-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. The other American import guard Ashley Houts (168-87, college: Georgia) contributed with 9 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American swingman Camille Little (188-85, college: N.Carolina) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Merav Dori (178-86, agency: Data Plus Group) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Electra Ramat. Four Electra Ramat players scored in double figures. Elitzur Netanya maintains seventh position with 5-7 record. Defending champion Electra Ramat keeps the second place with two games lost. Elitzur Netanya will play against Elitzur Holon (#8) on the road in the next round. Electra Ramat will play against Raanana Hertzeliya (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
