Regular Season Round 13: Pesaro - Cantu 76-75

SerieA round 13 most interesting game took place in Pesaro (derby !!!) between Scavolini Pesaro and Bennet Cantu. Sixth ranked Scavolini Pesaro (7-6) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Bennet Cantu (9-4). Scavolini Pesaro managed to escape with a 1-point win 76-75 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Bennet Cantu. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 22-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Scavolini Pesaro outrebounded Bennet Cantu 25-14 including 19 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Daniel Hackett (196-87, college: USC) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Puerto Rican guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami (FL)) chipped in 18 points. Scavolini Pesaro's coach Luca Dalmonte used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) responded with 15 points and the other American import forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Scavolini Pesaro moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Angelico BI. Bennet Cantu at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Scavolini Pesaro is looking forward to face Air Avellino (#7) at home in the next round. Bennet Cantu will play against Benetton Treviso (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
