The game in Stjarnan was quite interesting. Fourth ranked KR (8-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Stjarnan (6-6). KR did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 95-76. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Stjarnan managed to win second period 31-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-29 charity shots (89.7 percent) during the game. Stjarnan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international swingman Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Brynjar Bjoernsson (191-88, college: Francis Marion) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. KR's coach Hrafn Kristjansson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jon Olafur Jonsson (199-81) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Stjarnan. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. KR moved-up to third place, which they share with Keflavik. Stjarnan at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Haukar. KR will play against Hamar (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Stjarnan will play against Fjolnir and hopes to get back on the winning track.
