Date: January 6, 2011
Leader Pioneros delivered the twentieth seventh victory on Thursday night. This time they beat 14th ranked Abejas (13-23) 104-87 in Guanajuato. The game was mostly controlled by Pioneros. Abejas managed to win third quarter 26-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Abejas 43-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Rammel Allen (210-79, college: Bridgeport) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Joseph Sanchez (180-83, college: UTPA) helped adding 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Pioneros players scored in double figures. Pioneros' coach Alberto Espasandin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Dele Ojo (183-81, college: Pfeiffer) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Derrick Bunton (191-82, college: Huston-Tillotson) scored 22 points.
