Very important is a road loss of third ranked Argentino (3-2) against fifth ranked Club 9 (2-3) on Friday night. Visiting Argentino was crushed by fifth ranked Club 9 (2-3) in Rio Tercero 97-74. The game was mostly controlled by Club 9. Argentino managed to win third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Club 9 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Argentino's 30. Argentino was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Martin Melo (197-82) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Club 9 players scored in double figures. American power forward Joseph Bunn (198-75, college: Phillips (OK)) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Craig Craft (191-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 11 points in the effort for Argentino. Despite that victory Club 9 went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with 4 other teams. Argentino at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Obras. Club 9 will play against Estudiantes (#9) in Bahia Blanca in the next round. Argentino will play on the road against Olimpico de La Banda (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
