Regular Season Round 12: Xinjiang FT - DongGuan L. 103-68

Round 12 in CBA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Urumqi where host Xinjiang Flying Tige (11-0) crushed league's leader DongGuan Leopards (10-1) 103-68 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of DongGuan Leopards. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Xinjiang Flying Tige led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 20 DongGuan Leopards turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) who recorded 23 points and American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive eleven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. DongGuan Leopards at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Xinjiang. DongGuan Leopards will play next round against Qingdao Double Star trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Xinjiang Flying Tige will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Foshan at home.
