Very expected game in Orchies where 11th ranked Orchesien BC (7-10) was defeated by seventh ranked Etendard de Brest (10-7) 79-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 45-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Orchesien BC outrebounded Etendard de Brest 43-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Center Rafael Lopez (204-86) stepped up and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Baptiste Bataille (178-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 11 points. Guard Emilien Barbry (188-83) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Mali guard Modibo Niakate (185-81, college: Cleveland St.) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Etendard de Brest moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Orchesien BC dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Etendard de Brest will face Denek (#12) in Bidart in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Orchesien BC will play at home against CFBB in Paris.
