Another important game to mention about took place in Guadalajara. Sixth ranked Plasencia Extremadura (8-7) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked CB Guadalajara (5-10) 73-71 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. CB Guadalajara was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Plasencia Extremadura outrebounded CB Guadalajara 37-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Jonathan Barcelo (192-79) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and naturalized American forward Andre Howard (199-78, college: St.Joseph's) supported him with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by center Eduard Riu (202-82) did not help to save the game for CB Guadalajara. Center Sergio Fernandez (200-75) added 17 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Plasencia Extremadura maintains sixth position with 8-7 record. Loser CB Guadalajara keeps the thirteenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Coruna. Plasencia Extremadura will meet at home Regal FC II (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. CB Guadalajara will have a break next round.
