Date: January 8, 2011
The game in Zagreb was quite interesting. 7th ranked Kvarner 2010 (4-6) played at the court of eighth ranked Dubrava (4-6). Dubrava managed to secure a 5-point victory 91-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kvarner 2010. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 28-20 last quarter charge of Kvarner 2010 cut the lead to 91-86 at the end of the game. Power forward Dario Saric (205-94) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Mislav Brzoja (195-94) supported him with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Dubrava players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by center Matija Poscic (207-85, college: De Paul) did not help to save the game for Kvarner 2010. Guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83) added 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Kvarner 2010's coach Rudolf Jugo tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dubrava moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kvarner 2010. Dubrava's next round opponent will be higher ranked Borik Puntamika (#3) in Zadar and it may be quite challenging game.
