Regular Season Round 13: BC Nokia - FoKoPo 95-89

The game between second ranked Forssan Koripojat (10-3) and fifth ranked BC Nokia (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Forssan Koripojat was defeated by BC Nokia in a tough game in Nokia 89-95. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-89. BC Nokia shot 40 for 59 from the free-throw line, while Forssan Koripojat only scored nineteen points from the stripe. 37 personal fouls committed by Forssan Koripojat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Timo Riihela (193-80) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Pekka Setala (183-90) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized American swingman Andre Foreman (198-69, college: Salisbury St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Sami Ikavalko (187-89) scored 19 points. Four BC Nokia and five Forssan Koripojat players scored in double figures. Forssan Koripojat's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Nokia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Honka. Forssan Koripojat at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. BC Nokia is looking forward to face Loimaan Korikonkarit (#6) on the road in the next round. Forssan Koripojat will play against Tapiolan Honka (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
