No shocking result in a game in Athens where fifth ranked Aris (7-4) defeated 10th ranked AEK (4-7) 74-65. AEK was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 44-32 second half run of Aris. It was an exceptional evening for American forward P.J. Tucker (198-85, college: Texas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa, agency: Lanshire Group) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. The former international power forward Dimos Dikoudis (207-77) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Cypriot forward Prodromos Nikolaidis (201-78) added 15 points respectively for AEK in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aris. They moved-up to third place. AEK at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Aris' next round opponent will be Panionios (#11) in Athens and are hoping to win another game. AEK will play at home against Marousi.
