Regular Season Round 13: Anwil - PGE Turow 65-69

The game in Wloclawek was quite interesting. Second ranked PGE Turow (8-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Anwil (5-7). PGE Turow managed to secure a 4-point victory 69-65. It looked good early as Anwil took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then PGE Turow had a 19-10 second period charge getting the lead and Anwil was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-69. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Torey Thomas (180-85, college: Holy Cross, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Serbian power forward Marko Brkic (206-82, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. PGE Turow's coach Jacek Winnicki allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Serbian power forward Nikola Jovanovic (203-81, agency: BeoExcell) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian-Slovenian forward Stipe Modric (206-79) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Anwil. PGE Turow maintains second place with 8-4 record having just three points less than leader Energa Czarni. Anwil lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. PGE Turow's next round opponent will be Polonia Azbud (#7) in Warszawa which should be theoretically an easy game. Anwil will play on the road against AZS Koszalin.
