We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Helsinki where 8th ranked Ura Basket (6-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Torpan Pojat (5-8) 89-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Torpan Pojat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Russian center Vladimir Chepurnoy (201-90) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Mikael Sandberg (209-91) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat's coach Ville Tuominen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Miska Ahokas (198-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jan-Axel Alanko (197-82) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Torpan Pojat maintains ninth place with 5-8 record. Loser Ura Basket dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Torpan Pojat will face league's leader BC Jyvaskyla on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
