There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Shimane Magic (9-14) defeated on the road 5th ranked Tokyo Apache (7-8) 94-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Tokyo Apache outrebounded Shimane Magic 42-24 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) who added 26 points and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Jeremy Tyler (209-91, college: High School) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Byron Eaton (180-86, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tokyo Apache players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic maintains seventh position with 9-14 record. Loser Tokyo Apache dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Apache will play again against Shimane Magic (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
