NBL top team - New Zealand Breakers (12-3) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Adelaide 36ers (5-9) in Findon 90-85. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-85. New Zealand Breakers dominated on the defensive end, holding Adelaide 36ers to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 42-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. American forward Gary Wilkinson (206-82, college: Utah St.) nailed 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin) accounted for 25 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Adam Ballinger (205-79, college: Michigan St.) came up with 27 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Brad Hill (198-86) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. New Zealand Breakers maintains first place with 12-3 record. Adelaide 36ers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Tigers. New Zealand Breakers will meet at home Cairns Taipans (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
