Important game to mention about took place in Thessaloniki. Fifth ranked Panathinaikos (7-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked PAOK (3-7) 69-66 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 21-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (185-87, college: Drexel) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Maria Zikiridou (187-83) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Aisha Jefferson (185-86, college: Michigan St., agency: Merit Sports) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Porchia Green (175-87, college: Ball St.) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for PAOK. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. Panathinaikos moved-up to third place, which they share with Esperides. Newly promoted PAOK keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Panathinaikos will face Esperides (#3) in Glyfada in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena Aris.
