LEB Gold top team - Obradoiro CAB (16-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Girona FC (8-10) in Santoago de Comp 70-58. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. It was a good game for Canadian-Irish forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Bernard Hopkins (200-73, college: Va Commonwealth) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Obradoiro CAB players scored in double figures. Obradoiro CAB's coach Moncho Fernandez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Levi Rost (201-83, college: W.Michigan) replied with 18 points and guard Ignacio Ordin (184-78) added 11 points in the effort for Girona FC. Obradoiro CAB maintains first position with 16-2 record. Girona FC at the other side dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with La Palma and Lleida. Obradoiro CAB are looking forward to face Melilla Baloncesto (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Girona FC will play against Lobe Huesca and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
