There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Scavolini Pesaro (7-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Air Avellino (7-7) 80-69. The game without a history. Air Avellino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Polish center Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and American forward Omar Thomas (197-82, college: UTEP) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by Puerto Rican guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami (FL)) did not help to save the game for Scavolini Pesaro. American guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola (MD)) added 12 points and 4 assists for the hosts.
