There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Libertad Sunchales (3-3) won at home against one of their biggest challengers Obras (3-3) 77-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Libertad Sunchales. Obras managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international guard Sebastian Ginobili (190-72, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Carlos Schattmann (194-87) added 13 points in the effort for Obras. Libertad Sunchales has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Obras. Libertad Sunchales will face Estudiantes (#13) in Bahia Blanca in the next round where they are favorite.
