There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Assigeco BPL (6-9) defeated on the road 9th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (6-9) 85-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 27-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Assigeco BPL made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Naturhouse Ferrara turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Finnish power forward Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Valerio Mazzola (205-88, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Naturhouse Ferrara players scored in double figures. Assigeco BPL moved-up to tenth place, which they share with N.Ferrara and Fileni BPA. Assigeco BPL will face higher ranked Fastweb CM (#3) in Casale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
