Regular Season Round 26: KTP - Namika Lahti 96-83

Korisliiga top team - KTP-Basket (22-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Namika Lahti (10-15) in Kotka 96-83. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. KTP-Basket forced 20 Namika Lahti turnovers. American forward Jerald Fields (201-82, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Lanshire Group) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) supported him with 12 points and 7 assists. KTP-Basket's coach Ray Ailus used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds by forward Cedric Latimer (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) did not help to save the game for Namika Lahti. Guard Roope Suonio (176-82) added 12 points and 9 assists for the guests. Four KTP-Basket and five Namika Lahti players scored in double figures. KTP-Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-4 record. Namika Lahti lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 15 games lost. KTP-Basket will play against Torpan Pojat (#7) in Helsinki in the next round where they are favorite. Namika Lahti will play at home against Espoo Honka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
