Regular Season Round 25: Osaka Evessa - Hamamatsu P. 86-104

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Osaka Evessa (17-7) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Hamamatsu Phoenix (22-2) 104-86. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Osaka Evessa managed to win fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Osaka Evessa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St., agency: ACMT) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!). American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Kazuo Nakamura used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix has a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-2 record which they share with defeated Osaka Evessa. Osaka Evessa at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix are looking forward to face Takamatsu FA (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osaka Evessa will play against Saitama Broncos (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
