Very predictable result when second ranked Real Madrid (12-3) defeated at home 16th ranked Menorca Basquet (4-11) 95-84 on Sunday. The game without a history. Real Madrid led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Real Madrid shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 71.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Menorca Basquet was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 assists. Forward Carlos Suarez (202-86, agency: Court Side) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro, agency: BrezoPro) with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and naturalized Brazilian center Caio Torres (211-87) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Menorca Basquet players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Regal Barca. Menorca Basquet lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 11 games lost. Real Madrid will face Cajasol (#12) in Sevilla in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Menorca Basquet will play at home against Bizkaia Bilbao (#9).
