Regular Season Round 25: Takamatsu FA - Saitama Bron. 71-79

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Saitama Broncos (9-15) won on the road against 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (6-16) 79-71 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Takamatsu FA won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saitama Broncos outrebounded Takamatsu FA 49-27 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Quite impressive performance for guard Kenny Satterfield (188-81, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Center George Leach (210-81, college: Indiana) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Saitama Broncos' coach Bob Nash allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Jefferey Price (203-85, college: Miss.Valley St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Rasheed Sparks (190-77, college: Morgan St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Saitama Broncos. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shimane. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Saitama Broncos will face league's leader Osaka Evessa at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix (#1) in Mikawa.
