Regular Season Round 17: TU/Rock - Valga 123-91

EMKL top team - TU/Rock (17-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Valga/CKE (6-12) in Tartu 123-91. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. Valga/CKE managed to win fourth quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TU/Rock dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Valga/CKE's 46. TU/Rock forced 34 Valga/CKE turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international center Vallo Allingu (206-78) stepped up and scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Timo Eichfuss (200-88) chipped in 19 points. TU/Rock's coach Indrek Visnapuu felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Kaarel Koolman (204-88) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Robert Petersonig (190-90) scored 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for TU/Rock. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-1 record. Valga/CKE at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. TU/Rock will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valga/CKE will play at home against KK Parnu (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
