An interesting game took place in Foshan where 10th ranked Qingdao Double Star (5-8) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Foshan (4-9) 111-92. The game without a history. Foshan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Foshan outrebounded Qingdao Double Star 48-32 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) notched 27 points and 9 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and swingman Wenbo Yang (196-90) supported him with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) did not help to save the game for Qingdao Double Star. His fellow American import guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois) added 22 points for the guests. Five Foshan and four Qingdao Double Star players scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Foshan maintains thirteenth position with 4-9 record. Qingdao Double Star at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Foshan will play against higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#9) in Jinan in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Qingdao Double Star will play at home against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou and hopes to get back on the winning track.
