Regular Season Round 15: Zhejiang CB - Xinjiang FT 80-81

Tenth-ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (6-8) made lots of trouble for leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (14-0) in Hangzhou. The visitors from Urumqi managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Zhejiang Cyclones were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 19-13 third quarter run of Xinjiang Flying Tige. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for the former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) who saved his team from a defeat with 26 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) contributed with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Dayu Zhang (210-91) added 13 points in the effort for Zhejiang Cyclones. Four Zhejiang Cyclones players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-0 record. Zhejiang Cyclones at the other side keep the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Qingdao DS. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zhejiang Cyclones will play on the road against Qingdao Double Star (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
