No shocking result in a game in Ningbo where eighth ranked Bayi Fubang (8-6) defeated 15th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (3-11) 107-100 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 35-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Shanxi Zhongyu was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international forward Lei Wang (203-86) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Bayi Fubang's coach Chang Bin Adijan used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) who recorded a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and forward Shang Ping (205-84, college: Emporia St.) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Five Bayi Fubang and four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Bayi Fubang moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Liaoning and Zhejiang G.L. Loser Shanxi Zhongyu dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Bayi Fubang will face TianJin Rongcheng (#16) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanxi Zhongyu will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons in Nanjing.
