An interesting game took place in Lleida where 6th ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra (10-9) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Lleida Basquet (9-10) 72-65. It looked good early as Grupo Iruna Navarra took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lleida Basquet had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Grupo Iruna Navarra was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-72. Lleida Basquet had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ghanian guard Alhaji Mohammed (192-81, college: Louisville, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!). American center Dwayne Curtis (203-85, college: Mississippi, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with 9 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Haitian-American center Robert Joseph (204-78, college: Union (TN)) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Inaki Sanz (190-84) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Grupo Iruna Navarra. Four Grupo Iruna Navarra players scored in double figures. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Grupo Iruna Navarra keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Lleida Basquet's next round opponent will be Fundacion Adepal (#14) in Alcazar which should be theoretically an easy game.
