No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fastweb CM (12-4) beat 11th ranked Assigeco BPL (6-10) in Casale 96-81 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Fastweb CM. Assigeco BPL managed to win fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fastweb CM made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Assigeco BPL turnovers. Quite impressive performance for American guard Donell Taylor (198-82, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Ricky Hickman (190-85, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Court Side) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Fastweb CM's coach Marco Crespi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Bruno Cerella (194-86, agency: Players Group) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Assigeco BPL. Four Fastweb CM and five Assigeco BPL players scored in double figures. Fastweb CM has a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-4 record behind leader Umana Reyer. Loser Assigeco BPL keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Fastweb CM will face Tuscany Pistoia (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Assigeco BPL will play against Trenkwalder RE in Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
