There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Toyama Grouses (7-16) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Shimane Magic (10-15) 76-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Jeral Davis (216-84) chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach Zeljko Pavlicevic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Brian Harper (208-85, college: Paine) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Matthew Kyle (211-86, college: Yale) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Shimane Magic moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saitama Bron. Loser Toyama Grouses keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again Toyama Grouses (#7) at home in the next round.
