Regular Season Round 29: Komarno - Nitra 85-73

Top ranked Nitra (17-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of third ranked Komarno on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Komarno 85-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nitra. Nitra was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 31-18 charge of Komarno, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Komarno forced 20 Nitra turnovers. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Johnathon Jones (183-88, college: Oakland, agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. American forward Duane Erwin (206-82, college: Memphis, agency: Lanshire Group) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard J.J. Montgomery (196-82, college: Arkansas St.) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Komarno and four Nitra players scored in double figures. Komarno maintains third place with 13-10 record having three points less than leader Nitra. Nitra at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Komarno are looking forward to face Vahostav-Zilina (#6) on the road in the next round. Nitra will play against Prievidza (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
