Regular Season Round 10: Apollon Patras - AGOR 58-60

The most exciting game of round 10 in the A2 took place in Patra. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Apollon Patras (4-6) to second ranked AGOR (8-3) 60-58 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-58. Guard Giannis Kiriakopoulos (185-83) fired 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Tasos Charismidis (203-81, agency: FCM) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Nikos Argyropoylos (188-78) produced 13 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) added 6 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Apollon Patras' coach Nikos Vetoulas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AGOR has a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record behind leader KAOD. Newly promoted Apollon Patras dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Pagrati and Ermis Lagkada. AGOR are looking forward to face league's leader KAOD in Dramas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon Patras will play on the road against Arkadikos (#4) in Arkadia and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
