There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Dinamo Sassari (6-9) beat at home higher ranked Vanoli-Braga (6-9) 83-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dinamo Sassari. Vanoli-Braga managed to win third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard James White (198-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. His fellow American import guard Travis Diener (183-82, college: Marquette) contributed with 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Dinamo Sassari players scored in double figures. Slovenian forward Marko Milic (202-77) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vanoli-Braga. Dinamo Sassari moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Vanoli-Braga. Vanoli-Braga lost their third game in a row. Dinamo Sassari will face higher ranked Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
