Regular Season Round 18: Sorgues - Bordeaux 74-76

Important game to mention about took place in Sorgues. Second ranked Bordeaux (15-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Sorgues (11-7) 76-74 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sorgues. Sorgues was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a good game for guard Gauthier Darrigand (184-82) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 assists. American center John Ford (207-78, college: Colorado St.) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Bordeaux players scored in double figures. Bordeaux's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sorgues. Bordeaux has a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted Sorgues dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with St Quentin. Bordeaux will play against Lievin Basket (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sorgues will play against Saint-Quentin (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
