Date: January 15, 2011
A1 top team - Olympiakos (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Iraklis (3-10) in Athens 88-58. The game without a history. Olympiakos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Iraklis' 34. Olympiakos players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Iraklis' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Israeli guard Yotam Halperin (196-84) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists. International guard Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Olympiakos players scored in double figures. Bosnian center Ermin Jazvin (210-80, agency: Lanshire Group) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Matt Bouldin (196-88, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points in the effort for Iraklis. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olympiakos have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Newly promoted Iraklis keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Olympiakos' next round opponent will be Aris (#6) in Thessaloniki which should be theoretically another easy game. Iraklis will play on the road against Panellinios (#13) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
