Regular Season Round 15: Ulriken Elite - Kristiansand 77-58

Rather expected game in Bergen where 6th ranked Kristiansand (4-9) was crushed by third ranked Ulriken (10-3) 77-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. Ulriken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kristiansand's 36. They outrebounded Kristiansand 47-27 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ulriken looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kristiansand's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Magne Fivelstad (196-89) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Taylor Mullenax (201-86, college: St.Edward's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Ulriken's coach Geir Bangstad allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Antonio Russell (183-84, college: W.Carolina) who recorded 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Brian Mariampillar (188-85) added 14 points respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ulriken. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Tromso. Kristiansand lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Gimle. Ulriken will meet Baerum (#4) in the next round. Kristiansand will play against Froya in Laksevag and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
