Regular Season Round 27: Saitama Bron. - Osaka Evessa 79-77

Top ranked Osaka Evessa (17-9) recorded its ninth loss on the court of fourth ranked Saitama Broncos on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Saitama Broncos 79-77. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-77. Saitama Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Osaka Evessa's 42. The best player for the winners was American guard Kenny Satterfield (188-81, college: Cincinnati) who scored 31 points and 7 assists. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fairleigh Dickinson) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Lawrence Blackledge (203-86, college: Marquette) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Saitama Broncos (11-15) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Despite that victory Saitama Broncos went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Shimane. Osaka Evessa at the other side still keeps top place with nine games lost. Saitama Broncos is looking forward to face league's second-placed Shiga Lakestars on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will play against the league's second-placed Sendai 89ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
