Very important is a home loss of third ranked Jiangsu Dragons (10-5) against fifteenth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (4-11) on Sunday night. Host Jiangsu Dragons were defeated by Shanxi Zhongyu in Nanjing 124-106. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Jiangsu Dragons. The game was mostly controlled by Shanxi Zhongyu. Jiangsu Dragons managed to win third quarter 31-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shanxi Zhongyu players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Jiangsu Dragons were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Jordanian guard Osama Daghlas (199-79, college: Midwestern St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American forward Leon Rodgers (199-80, college: N.Illinois) who added 32 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Antoine Wright (201-84, college: Texas A&M) scored 25 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shanxi Zhongyu moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Foshan. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Shanxi Zhongyu will play against higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against TianJin Rongcheng (#17) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
