The most important game in the last round took place in Jinjiang between second ranked DongGuan Leopards (13-2) and seventeenth ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (3-12) on Sunday night. DongGuan Leopards were defeated by Fujian SBS XunXin in a tough game on the road 113-120. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of DongGuan Leopards. The game without a history. Fujian SBS XunXin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fujian SBS XunXin shot 36 for 50 from the free-throw line, while DongGuan Leopards only scored seventeen points from the stripe. 34 personal fouls committed by DongGuan Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 20 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) added 25 points and 6 assists in the effort for DongGuan Leopards. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujian SBS XunXin moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Jilin and TianJin R. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. Fujian SBS XunXin is looking forward to face higher ranked Foshan (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. DongGuan Leopards will play against Bayi Fubang (#7) in Ningbo and are hoping to win this game.
